I started thinking about the books that I give away and came to the conclusion that the majority are ones that I really like and am excited for other people to read. So, what about the books that didn’t live up to my expectations? Well, so far, they are collecting dust on my bookshelves. This revelation led to today’s giveaway.
Announcing the first ever
“It Should Have Been Better GIVEAWAY.”
Doug Lee is undead quite by accident—attacked by a desperate vampire, he finds himself cursed with being fat and fifteen forever. When he has no luck finding some goth chick with a vampire fetish, he resorts to sucking the blood of cows under cover of the night. But it’s just not the same.
Then he meets the new Indian exchange student and falls for her—hard. Yeah, he wants to bite her, but he also wants to prove himself to her. But like the laws of life, love, and high school, the laws of vampire existence are complicated—it’s not as easy as studying Dracula. Especially when the star of Vampire Hunters is hot on your trail in an attempt to boost ratings.…

I have to say that I was really disappointed in Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. I had read such glowing reviews but I just couldn’t get into the character’s voice. The almost stream of consciousness viewpoint was really irritating to me because she seemed like such a shallow person. I tried three times and then donated it to my HS Media Center.

I was disappointed in Queen Victoria: Demon Hunter. It was a total bummer after reading good reviews of it.
I’m nervous now – I have to review this for teensreadtoo and I’ll be a tad sad if it isn’t at least enjoyable. :/
Um…So far, Cate Tiernan’s The Chalice of Wind: Balefire #1 is not as exciting as I thought it would be.
John – I’m sure other people will find this book quite enjoyable. You know how book tastes go. Anyway, let me know when you finish reading it so I’ll know what you decide.

Eat Pray Love is my all time it should have been better!
I’ve done this sort of thing before too. I called it a DNF giveaway and deemed it my loss is your gain!
Great idea!

Excellent. Thanks so much for replying.
My latest disappointment was The Dark Divine by Bree Despain.
One book that I was really looking forward to and was disappointed with was My Soul to Save by Rachel Vincent. I loved the first book, but this time I couldn’t get into it and the characters seemed…ehh. I was sad when I finished because I really thought I was going to like it.
Great idea – everyone likes different things! This is a great way to get those “I’ll never read it agains” off your shelves.
My Sister’s Keeper was one of those for me – - I was really into the story, although couldn’t understand the parents. The end was a huge bummer for me, completely put me off her books. I wanted a better ending.

I was not a fan of Tantalize. I’ve had it and the follow up novels on my to-read list for sometime. After reading the first one, I have no desire to continue.

I agree with the comments about My Soul To Save. I’m having trouble getting into it despite the great reviews that I’ve read. I’m still going to try to finish it.
